The Rev. Frederick Buechner is a critically acclaimed and widely read author of a number of novels including The Final Beast, Brendan, the four-volume Book of Bebb, and Godric which was nominated for the Pulitzer prize in 1981. Among his highly praised works of nonfiction are Peculiar Treasures, The Hungering Dark, and the evocative memoirs The Sacred Journey and Now and Then. An ordained Presbyterian minister, Mr. Buechner makes his home in Vermont and Florida. He has been awarded by the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. His most recent works include a novel about the biblical character Jacob, entitled The Son of Laughter, and Beyond Words: Daily Readings in the ABCs of Faith.
