Music resonates through the heart of Washington National Cathedral. In addition to our classical and contemporary worship music, the Cathedral is home to a full concert season of orchestral performances, organ recitals and world-renowned guest artists.

Handel's Messiah
Fri Dec. 5 • 7 pm Sat Dec. 6 • 6 pm Sun Dec. 7 • 6 pm The Washington National Cathedral Choir and Baroque Orchestra, under the direction of Dana Marsh, perform Handel’s beloved Messiah under the Cathedral’s soaring Gothic architecture. Witness the concert that has captivated audiences for generations. Livestream available for 12/7 performance only. Run time: 2.5 hours, including intermission.
Handel's Messiah: Highlights
Sat Dec. 6 • 2 pm Enjoy the most popular choruses from Messiah during this 60-minute abbreviated program. From “Sinfonia (Overture)” to the legendary “Hallelujah Chorus,” experience the highlights of a concert that has become a Cathedral tradition. Run time: 60 minutes.
VOCES8: Winter Tales
Fri Dec. 19 • 7:30 pm Sat Dec. 20 • 7:30 pm The GRAMMY-nominated a capella ensemble VOCES8 makes its Cathedral debut with a winter program of carols, contemporary choral works, and festive favorites. Spanning centuries of seasonal music, from Es ist ein Ros’ entsprungen to Let it Snow, this concert celebrates the warmth and joy of the holiday season.
The King's Singers: Angels & Demons
Fri Feb. 6 • 7 pm Sat Feb. 7 • 7 pm The King’s Singers return to the Cathedral for Angels and Demons a collection of extraordinary choral music written over 500 years to explore both the light and the darkness of the human experience and its potent symbolism in Christianity.
The Tallis Scholars: Mysteries and Miracles
Fri Apr. 10 • 7:30 pm Described by the Washington Post as one of the world’s premier vocal ensembles, the Tallis Scholars bring their acclaimed sound to the Cathedral with a luminous Easter season program. Centered on Victoria’s Missa O magnum mysterium, the concert traces stories of wonder and revelation, from Christ’s birth to resurrection.
Marin Alsop Conducts Bernstein & Copland
Sun Jun. 21 • 6 pm Under the baton of Marin Alsop, the National Orchestral Institute + Festival Philharmonic perform vivid, dance-inspired favorites including Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, Three Dance Episodes from On the Town, and Copland’s vibrant Appalachian Spring.
Bach’s Magnificat
Original performance dates: Oct. 3 & 5, 2025
Thank you for joining us! The Washington National Cathedral Choir and Baroque Orchestra, under the direction of Andrew Megill, perform Bach’s vibrant Magnificat, based on the Gospel of Luke.
