In June 2010 Cathedral Dean Samuel T. Lloyd III appointed the Rev. Timothy A. Boggs the Cathedral’s provost, a position he held into the early autumn of 2010. In collaboration with the dean and the chief operating officer, Tim was responsible for the development and implementation of the Cathedral’s worship, music, and programs, including education, mission, and stewardship. With the other senior clergy and staff, Tim helped develop and sustain the Cathedral’s national and global identity, as well as the Cathedral’s growing Washington congregation.
Tim Boggs came to the Cathedral after three years as the senior associate rector of St. Alban’s Parish in Washington, D.C. There he provided key leadership to a vibrant parish through preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and direction of the parish stewardship and outreach ministries. He led the clergy and administrative staff during a complex time of transition in parish life.
Prior his ordination in 2007 Tim was the senior vice president for global public policy of Time Warner, Inc., a major media and entertainment firm he helped lead for more than twenty years. He was educated at the University of Wisconsin and Georgetown University and received his Master of Divinity, cum laude, from the General Theological Seminary (GTS) in New York in 2007.
