As Chief Operating Officer, Robert Sokol, assists the Dean and Chapter in determining and implementing strategic priorities, building and managing the annual budget, and streamlining operations across the organization. Over his six years with the Cathedral, his principle areas of focus have been working on the financial health of the organization, growing revenue lines, modernizing communications, enhancing the visitor experience, renovating the Cathedral building and its supporting structures, improving institutional relations, and building up the Cathedral’s programmatic life.
Sokol comes to the Cathedral after 12 years at the Library of Congress, where he began as Creative Director for the Librarian of Congress and left as the Senior Advisor to the Chief Operating Officer. Sokol’s education in Economics and Chinese was completed at Seattle University and Nanjing University, China. He lives in Washington with his wife and their two sons.
