Michael Hill
Former Executive Director for External Relations

Michael E. Hill joined the Cathedral staff as the Senior Director for
External Relations and Development in the fall of 2006 and was promoted
to Executive Director for External Relations in 2008. He oversees the
Cathedrals development, communications and marketing, and national and
volunteer advancement areas.
From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Hill directed Arena Stages $125 million capital
campaign. The effort went public in 2006 with more than $100 million
already committed due in large measure to Mr. Hills communications,
major gifts and management abilities. Before joining Arena, he served as
executive director of St. Bonaventure Universitys Regina A. Quick
Center for the Arts, where he managed all artistic and operational
functions, including spearheading a multi-million dollar building and
endowment campaign.
Mr. Hill has also served as public relations director for the Minnesota
Conservatory for the Arts and as a guest critic for theatre and symphony
at the Chautauqua Institution. He teaches marketing and public relations
in George Mason Universitys Master of Arts Management program and
serves as chairman of the Board of the Gay Mens Chorus of Washington,
DC. He holds a Master of Arts in Arts Administration from St. Marys
University in Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass
Communication from St. Bonaventure University.
