Holy Eucharist
Over the last 115 years, the work of this Cathedral has been made possible by people from across the country and around the world. Please join us in-person or online for a special Cathedral Day Service of Holy Eucharist on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at 11:15am. The Most Rev. Michael Curry guest preaches and the Rt. Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde presides. For those present in Washington, a reception on Walker Court immediately follows this service.
The Holy Eucharist (also known as Holy Communion, the Mass, or the Lord’s Supper) is the heart of the Cathedral’s worship life. Grounded in the rich traditions of the Episcopal Church, the service is set in the grandeur of the Cathedral nave. Our praise of God engages our senses, and the service draws the congregation together through prayers, scripture, preaching and musical offerings that blend familiar hymns, ancient and contemporary anthems, spirituals and gospel. All who seek a deeper relationship with God in Christ are welcome to receive Communion.
Reservations are not required for in-person worship. Learn more about our reopening at cathedral.org/faq.
This service will be streamed here on our website and our YouTube page.
