Online Workshop: Writing from and for the Soul
We don’t necessarily think of the middle ages as being a heyday for women’s writing, yet three of the most influential texts of the fourteenth century were written in the vernacular by women. Marguerite Porete, Julian of Norwich, and Margery Kempe shared intimate experiences of the holy which led them to struggle with their faith on the page. Join us as we explore the lives of these three mystics—one a martyr, one a recluse, and one a pilgrim—and discover how their distinct writing styles can be a path for us to deepen our own understanding and faith in the twenty-first century.
Advanced registration is required. Registration closes at 12 pm ET on October 22.
$15/regular; $10/student, senior, limited income
