As we get ready to unveil and dedicate the new Now and Forever stained glass windows by Kerry James Marshall, here’s a quick glimpse of the installation process by our stained glass expert, Andrew Goldkuhle.

Goldkuhle’s family has a long history of work in sacred decorative arts; his father, Dieter, fabricated more than 60 windows at the Cathedral, and Andrew now carries on the family legacy.

Inserting the window into place is the relatively easy part — the dirty work is all the prep that goes into making the limestone frames ready to receive the new windows.
