Back-to-School Drive: Classrooms are Opening!
Help provide students with needed school supplies! The Cathedral community is joining Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ and The Episcopal Church of the Atonement (Capital View) to provide backpacks and school supplies to children and youth in Wards 7 & 8. Over the past year, students have been learning virtually, and as the 2021-22 school year begins, we want to make sure these grades 1-6 students are equipped to start the year and fully engage in their lessons.
On August 10, 11, and 12, you can drop-off backpacks with supplies at the Cathedral’s Way of Peace entrance. From Wisconsin Ave., turn on South Rd. and drive past the gardens to the Cathedral’s south end. Volunteers will be there to collect donations at the times listed below.
Please Note: We are not able to accept cash donations for the Back-to-School Drive.
You can find a complete list of supplies needed for grades 1-6 here. We ask that you place supplies in the backpack and label the specific grade level.
