Cathedral to Hold Annual “Seeing Deeper” Week
WASHINGTON – Washington National Cathedral will hold the annual Seeing Deeper Week from Monday, February 10 – Friday, February 14, during which the nave of the Cathedral will be emptied of chairs and special programs will be held each night. The programs include a light display, a musical performance, yoga, a night of contemplative prayer and peace, and a “Second Chance Prom” on Valentine’s Day. Each year, thousands of people turn out for Seeing Deeper at the Cathedral.
“As a sacred space where the nation gathers and a house of prayer for all people, the Cathedral operates at the intersection of the civic and the sacred,” said the Very Rev. Randolph Marshall Hollerith, dean of Washington National Cathedral. “Once a year, that means bringing together friends and neighbors from the D.C. community to convene and take part in experiences that connect us to one another and help us experience the world around us in new and transformative ways.”
Media are welcome to attend, and must RSVP to Tony Franquiz at [email protected] for each specific night they plan on attending. Seeing Deeper will take place each night from February 10 through February 14. The events are ticketed for the public, and some are paid events. Please see below for details on all five nights of Seeing Deeper programming and send your RSVPs accordingly:
