Pentecost XXV: Jesus told us that God in Christ was prepared over and over and over again to pick us up, to dust us off, to show us the path of right living in relationship with God and with one another.
Pentecost XXIII: I know some of you will miss church, but there you have it: there won’t be any one place to call “church” anymore since every place will be church, if what you mean by church is the place where you seek God.
Reformation Sunday: Gary Hall is immensely privileged to have the honor and responsibility of being the dean and preacher of this grand Cathedral. I am confident Dr. Hall will fulfill this responsibility with wisdom and courage, faithfulness and imagination, and with the warmth of humor.
We may not be courageous people by nature, but we can do courageous things through God who strengthens us. All the really exciting things require more courage than we currently have.
Pentecost XXI: If we learn anything from the life and death and resurrection of Jesus, it is that the One Jesus calls his Father does not dwell in imperial splendor.
Pentecost XVIII: The Christian view is not only that there is life beyond the grave but that it is intricately and intimately connected to life before the grave.
