The Annual Giving Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the Annual Giving team’s daily administrative and operational activities. The Annual Giving Coordinator will interact with staff, external partners, donors, and volunteers and is expected to exercise care, discretion, diplomacy and tact. This position is ideal for someone with some development experience in a smaller organization, or who may be in an early career or in career transition with a specific interest in development/advancement.

job duties and responsibilities
  • Assist with project management of key aspects of the Annual Giving program, including:
    • Compiling assets, coordinating review, and monitoring timelines for projects and campaigns for various audiences and in collaboration with other departments as well as internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assisting in projects and activities related to our CRM of record, Raiser’s Edge NXT and other related systems. Activities may include list preparation, updating records, preparing files and communications, as well as assisting in data preparation, reporting, and analysis, among others.
  • Attend regular meetings with Allegiance Goup, internal partners and other vendors to further the fundraising goals of the Annual Giving Team.
  • Monitor email, direct mail, and program schedules, as well as shared inboxes, in partnership with the Development Coordinator and the Marketing Coordinator, among others, to enhance the donor / audience experience.
  • Involvement in Cathedral Life:
    • Participate in tours, brown bag learning opportunities, Cathedral programs, “Get to know you” meetings, etc.
    • Participate in internal working groups and committees.
  • Coordinate direct outreach to targeted Broadbase and lower Midlevel donors. This will be completed via telephone and email and utilizing other tools as appropriate, engaging in primarily stewardship and cultivation outreach to targeted lists of broad base and midlevel donors (i.e., new donor welcome calls, broad base surveys, immediate stewardship thank you calls and emails for recent giving).
  • Other duties or administrative project support as assigned (i.e., project management for special projects, or training and professional development)
minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to three years’ experience in an administrative position, preferably in a nonprofit development office.
Preferred experience
  • Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge/RE NXT, ThankView and/or other additional systems such as Salesforce, Donor Perfect or other CRM systems.
  • Strong command of MS Office applications, especially Word (including mail merges), Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams.
  • Project management skills useful.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment among diverse internal and external constituencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and experience drafting and preparing business correspondence.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including judgement as to when to handle an issue vs. escalating to superior.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to manage logistical details, including technological needs, for meetings, retreats and small events.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position requires work on site. Must be available to work on site as scheduled or requested.
  • This position is eligible for a hybrid model of work, averaging 2-3 days a week in the office on site.
  • This position requires work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, for special programs, services and events.
  • Flexibility in daily schedules when the Cathedral hosts funerals, State events and other special events. Development staff are required to assist with these events and may need to adjust priorities with little notice.
  • Flexibility in holiday planning. Development staff must assist with events at Christmas and Easter and may need to adjust personal plans accordingly.
  • The position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending and stooping in the performance of daily activities.
  • The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard.
  • The position also requires near and far vision for reading and preparing written reports and other required documents.
  • Acute hearing is also required when providing phone assistance.
  • The need to lift, drag, push and pull files, reports and other materials weighing up to 25 pounds is also required.
