Choral Evensong with Blessing of St. Phoebe Carving
Join us for a special Choral Evensong as we dedicate the Cathedral’s newest carving. St. Phoebe, who is remembered as the first deacon named in Scripture, was a servant leader in the early Church. Her faithfulness, generosity, and witness continue to inspire the diaconal vocation today. Cathedral stone carver Sean Callahan carved the statue in collaboration with sculptor Chas Fagan.
One of the treasures of the Anglican tradition, evensong is a service of sung evening prayer. This service features choral music that spans from the Renaissance to the modern day, along with familiar passages of scripture and ancient prayers, creating a contemplative mood. All are welcome.
