Ever visited the Cathedral and wished you had a personal guide to point out all the details that are easy to miss? We've got a great solution for you.

The Cathedral’s new audio tour, “Big Spaces, Small Details,” is now available via our Bloomberg Connects visitor app. Your guest tour guide is Jim Handly, the Evening News Anchor at NBC4 in Washington — joined by several members of the Cathedral staff (with music provided by our very own Michele Fowlin).

The 45-minute audio tour takes you through some of the main highlights of the Cathedral, as well as some spots you might easily miss, including:

  • Whimsical carvings that showcase the stone carvers’ artistry
  • The “Creation” west rose window
  • The Space window
  • Woodrow Wilson’s tomb
  • Mellon Bay and the Coventry Cross
  • The new “Now and Forever” stained glass windows
  • The Canterbury Pulpit
  • War Memorial Chapel and the Pentagon Cross
  • Children’s Chapel

At each stop along the way, a different member of the Cathedral staff shares their favorite details and brings the soaring Cathedral down to human scale. The tour is free, and is available both on-site and remote.

We’re busy planning additional audio tours — tell us what you’d like to see!
