Washington National Cathedral is honored to host ceremonies for weddings, marriage blessings, and renewal of vows.
A marriage is one of the most joyful services celebrated in churches. Washington National Cathedral is pleased to hold weddings, marriage blessings, and renewal of vows. Cathedral Wedding Guidelines
- Couples of whom at least one party has received Holy Baptism
- Couples who are members of a church or exploring membership at a church
- Episcopal clergy licensed in DC, or
- Clergy of denominations that are members of the National Council of Churches of Christ in America must co-officiate with licensed Episcopal clergy person
- Marriage and wedding must conform to laws of the District of Columbia
- Wedding must be scheduled and non-refundable 50% deposit received 6 months in advance, balance due 90 days prior to wedding date
- Interfaith weddings are approved on a case-by-case basis
Cathedral weddings are scheduled for select Saturdays. Late morning, late afternoon, and early evening times are available. To begin the request process, please complete the inquiry form below.
Cathedral Weddings
The Cathedral offers the following spaces for wedding ceremonies: Nave, Great Choir, Bethlehem Chapel, and the newly-renovated Virginia Mae Center's St. Augustine of Canterbury Chapel.
