Seeing Deeper

Seeing Deeper: The Cosmic Mass

Thursday, February 8, 2018 | 6:30pm

The Cosmic Mass is a unique experience of worship and spirit for people of all faiths. Though music, sacred dance, and teaching, participants experience the Divine, co-creating an experience for one another.

Call it a rave in the nave. Without the drugs.

Music, sacred dance, and teaching, replace pews and traditional readings of texts; meditation is triggered by powerful imagery and DJ enhancement.

The Rev. Matthew Fox and local healer Richael Faithful will offer teachings while song leaders Michelle Jordan and Navasha Daya, and DJ Melissa Michaels bring both participatory and ethereal music. Artist Mary Plaster offers life-sized puppets.

This year we'll focus on spiritual healing -- for ourselves and our humanity -- in a multi-racial context, especially in this political moment.

  • 6:30 pm: Doors open
  • 7:00 pm: Cosmic Mass begins

Space is limited; please RSVP. Suggested donation: $10/person.  Donations accepted online with RSVP, or at the door.

Volunteers Needed! Do you want to help with set up, building altars, communion or greeting? We need 30-40 volunteers to make the Cosmic Mass a success. Contact Katy Gaughan at [email protected] by Feb. 5 with the time(s) you are available, your preferred role and a phone number.

Curious what Cosmic Mass is all about? It's more than just a rave in the nave.
