“Just remaining quietly in the presence of God, listening to Him, being attentive to Him, requires a lot of courage and know-how.”
Feeling the presence of God is often as much about being in the present moment as it is about recognizing the presence of the Holy. For some of us, much of our day is spent worrying about the past or thinking about the future, rather than being present in the here and now. Join us every second Sunday afternoon to learn how to be present, quiet and attentive.
A variety of mindfulness practices including sitting, movement, and loving kindness meditations engender peace and well-being, leading to greater clarity and concentration. Research has also shown that mindfulness meditation decreases anxiety, depression, and pain. Teaching and conversation about your experience and insights are interspersed with the meditations. Learn how to develop a daily practice, integrating mindfulness into your everyday life.
