About Robert Knupp

Robert Knupp is Professor of Organ at Mississippi College in Clinton, teaching organ and music theory.  He is also the organist of Galloway United Methodist Church in Jackson.

An active performer, Knupp has performed with the several symphony orchestras, AGO regional conventions, and has been heard nationally on the program “Pipedreams.”  He has performed in twenty nine states and in Europe.  Significant performance venues include the Washington National Cathedral, St. Thomas Church and St. Mary’s in New York City, St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco, King’s Chapel in Boston, Third Baptist in St. Louis, and the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta.  During the summer of 2015, Knupp embarked on a five week historic organ tour of central Germany with concerts on Silbermann Organs in Forchheim and Frieburg, and on the Max Reger Organ in Bad Salzungen.

Knupp is a native of Johnstown, PA, and holds degrees from the University of Alabama (D.M.A.), East Carolina University (M.M.), and Susquehanna University (B.M.)   Primary mentors include the late Warren Hutton, Janette Fishell, and Susan Hegberg.
