About Aaron Goen

Aaron Goen serves as Director of Music at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Burke, VA, Choral Accompanist and Organist of the choral program at the National Cathedral School for Girls and St. Albans School for Boys in Washington, DC and Accompanist for the Thomas Circle Singers.

He is an active recitalist both as an organist and as an accompanist, having given recitals in the DC metro area, Baltimore, Charlotte, NC, Columbia, SC, San Diego, and the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Newark, NJ. In 2015, Mr. Goen served as course organist for the Royal School of Church Music Summer Course for Advanced Trebles in Washington, DC working with Bruce Neswick.

As a Chancellor Scholar, Aaron graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Music from Vanderbilt University, having studied organ with Wilma Jensen. He then went on to Indiana University as a Merit Scholar to pursue a Masters in Music degree, having studied with Drs. Christopher Young and Larry Smith.

About James Hillis

James Hillis is an award-winning pianist, a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory and former student of Julian Martin, Ylda Novik, Joseph Schwartz and Veda Kaplinsky. Among his many honors as a pianist Mr. Hillis’ is the recipient of Tanglewood Music Festival’s Outstanding Young Pianist Award. In 2011 Mr. Hillis founded the Capital Piano Conservatory as a teaching studio to inspire and instruct a diversity of young pianists.
