giving THANKSgiving 2017

Sunday, November 19, 2017 | 8:30am

“Love and care for our neighbors is at the heart of the Christian mission, especially during the season of Thanksgiving, when we give thanks for our many blessings.”
— The Very Reverend Randolph Marshall Hollerith, Dean

Each year, the Cathedral Congregation partners with Covenant Baptist Church/UCC to provide Thanksgiving dinners for families in need in Wards 7 and 8. We are thrilled to welcome two additional outreach partners, Friendship Place and First Baptist Church, to help expand this important mission. Families of Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School, are joining our Cathedral staff and friends to contribute toward our goal of 1,000 Thanksgiving meals. For the first time, donors can donate online!

How you can help!  If you are able, we are asking for the donation of “baskets” of non–perishable food as well as cash or check donations to purchase turkeys to complete the Thanksgiving family meal and to provide additional food baskets.

Next steps
Sign–up online or at the congregation table on Sundays, October 22 to November 12, to prepare and contribute one or more food “baskets” of designated non-perishable food items. Deliver your baskets on November 19, 8:30 to 11:30 am, along South Road at the west end of the Cathedral.

Donate or pledge cash or checks to purchase frozen turkeys and additional food baskets. Donate online or at the congregation table on Sundays, October 22 to November 19.
