DIDEROT STRING QUARTET
When it comes to crafting perfect string quartets, few can compare to Joseph Haydn and Ludwig van Beethoven. Come sample some of the ripest, sweetest fruits from the musical gardens of these two compositional titans: one of Haydn's "Sun" quartets and one of Beethoven's "Razumovsky" quartets. Beethoven dedicated these latter works to a Russian ambassador, one Andrey Razumovsky, who paid the wages of the very first professional string quartet.
