The Cathedral’s Environment Advocacy Group hosts an evening of visual stories about science, nature, conservation and adventure from the trained scientists and award-winning filmmakers of Day’s Edge Productions. The program is part of the 25th Annual Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital. The evening includes four fascinating episodes from the Think Like a Scientist series. In Boundaries, for example, we meet conservation photographer Krista Schlyer who has spent the last seven years documenting environmental effects of the U.S./Mexico border wall, and biologist Jon Beckmann, who studies how man-made barriers influence the movement of wildlife. The final film is End of Snow which follows tropical ecologist Dr. Jane Zelikova as she embarks on a journey into the mountains of Wyoming and Colorado to discover the past, present and future of snow. Discussion with Jayce Hafner (Episcopal Church Office of Government Relations) and Krista Schlyer (photographer and film subject of Boundaries follows screening. Free.
