Chant as Prayer for Lent

Saturday, March 9, 2019 | 10:00am
“Those who sing pray twice.” – St. Augustine

Awaken yourself to a new experience of prayer this Lent with a morning of chant as prayer. Move away from the conscious mind into your heart’s intuitive center, exploring both familiar chants and familiar words from spoken prayers sung in new creative ways. Experience how the motivations of gratitude, sharing concerns, asking for help, calling on the Divine, and expressing our feelings are the same in spoken prayer as well as in chant.

The quality of your singing voice doesn’t matter as the heart of this prayer is listening—to ourselves and each other, to the vibrations in our bodies, to the silence, and to the still small voice of God.
