In honor of Capital Pride Alliance’s Still We Are Celebration 2021, the Cathedral will be lit in rainbow hues June 6—8.
Regular participants for many years at Capital Pride, we wish we could be with the hundreds of congregants and community members marching through Dupont and Logan Circles. As a House of Prayer for All People, this Cathedral is called to uplift and support our neighbors. This year, in support and allyship, the Cathedral will be participating in Capital Pride by lighting the west façade in a rainbow of colors. The Cathedral’s LGBTQIA Alliance will also be participating in the Colorful PrideMobile Parade on June 12. Learn more online if you want to watch the parade around the city.
This lighting is in conjunction with the Cathedral’s LGBTQIA Alliance. The LGBTQIA Alliance promotes the inclusiveness of the Episcopal Faith and the Cathedral’s message of, “All are Welcome” by helping people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and faith backgrounds find their place in the church.
