The Cathedral was proud to assemble one of its largest contingents – and a pretty amazing float – for the 2019 Capital Pride parade, and devastated when word of a shooting caused the parade to fall apart. Participants were shocked, fearful, traumatized and downright angry. The ugly specter of gun violence hit too close to home, and it seemed that all our energy and efforts were for nothing.
But as Vicar Dana Corsello put it: We thought we were building a float, but we ended up building a resilient and loving community.
If you're still wrestling over everything that happened, please join us in Bethlehem Chapel for an opportunity to decompress, debrief and rebuild. Join us as we love on one another and share stories to help us heal and support one another.
