- 7:30-8:30: Documentary film screening
7:30 Program: Labyrinth Journeys Documentary Film Screening
Join us for a screening of the new documentary Labyrinth Journeys, followed by a discussion with filmmaker Cintia Cabib. The film presents the personal stories of individuals who walk the labyrinth at seven locations in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area: Washington National Cathedral, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the National Intrepid Center of Excellence at Walter Reed, the School for Tomorrow, the American Psychological Association’s green roof, a neighborhood garden, and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Adults, teenagers and children describe how they use this ancient path as a tool for healing, rehabilitation, meditation, stress reduction, spiritual awareness and playful exploration.
Cintia Cabib is an independent producer, videographer and editor. Her documentaries have aired on public television and have been screened at numerous venues throughout the U.S. and abroad. Cintia’s films have covered a variety of topics, including the colorful history of an 88-year-old carousel, the vital role of seven urban community gardens, and health issues affecting African Americans.
