This event has been CANCELED as part of the Cathedral’s support for furloughed federal workers, contractors, and institutions. On January 29th, the Cathedral will instead be hosting an event displaced from the Smithsonian, which remains closed during the government shutdown. The Cathedral has also distributed $8,000 worth of groceries to furloughed families.
On January 15th, Dean Randy Hollerith, Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, and other religious leaders released a statement urging the end of the government shutdown. In part, it reads: "While the effects are felt nationwide, our region is especially impacted. Many in our faith communities are struggling, as are their co-workers and neighbors, and we are concerned for them and their families. Moreover, we are all vulnerable when those whose services we depend upon are under such duress.”
The Cathedral offers opportunities to walk the labyrinth on the last Tuesday of each month as part of the Cathedral Labyrinth Walks program.
