2019 Sacred Music Festival

Saturday, February 23, 2019 | 9:00am

For centuries, Christians have set sacred stories in song to praise and glorify God, giving voice to the deepest longings of the heart. Join Washington National Cathedral as we celebrate the beauty, breadth and power of liturgical music.

Join us for the 2019 Sacred Music Festival, led by Canon Michael McCarthy and the Cathedral music staff on February 23rd and 24th, 2019. Directors, organists and choristers are invited to participate in our annual festivities. We encourage you to join us as we celebrate our passion for liturgical music together in the spiritual home for our nation.

Throughout the weekend choristers (3rd-12th grade) will rehearse in preparation for Sunday’s Festival Evensong in collaboration with our Cathedral Choristers and the Cathedral Singers. Directors and organists are invited to attend courses and discussions on vocal pedagogy, choir recruitment, organ improvisation techniques and share fellowship with visiting colleges.
