The Very Rev. Randy Hollerith to Be Formally Installed as Eleventh Dean of Washington National Cathedral

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Very Rev. Randolph “Randy” Marshall Hollerith will be installed as Dean of Washington National Cathedral on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. ET. The Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, will preach.

Hollerith was named the eleventh dean of Washington National Cathedral on May 23, after serving as the rector of St. James’s Episcopal Church in Richmond, Va., for 16 years. He brings more than 25 years of experience as a faith leader and deep local connections to the role. He grew up in nearby Alexandria, Va., often visiting the Cathedral as a boy during its construction, and his family has enjoyed longstanding ties to the institution.

“Washington National Cathedral is a breathtaking site with a unique place in the hearts, minds and imaginations of the American people, and is a testament to the reconciling and transforming love of Jesus Christ,” said Rev. Hollerith. “I feel honored to serve this beloved institution and to lead the Cathedral in its mission of being a spiritual home for the nation and a house of prayer for all people.”
