Announcing the Endowment for the Vicar’s Office

We have successfully met the challenge grant and unlocked vital matching funds to support the future health of our congregation. Together, we have raised more than $650,000 and launched the Endowment for the Vicar’s Office. Congregation donors at every level made this possible. Thank you!

While we still have some work to do to reach our ultimate goal of raising a $1 million endowment that will generate income to directly support the work of our Congregation, now that the endowment has been created we can continue to grow it with new gifts and investments.

We are called to secure the future of the Congregation’s pastoral leadership. As we know from the Covid pandemic and disruptive market forces, any clerical position at the Cathedral could be jeopardized. The goal of this endowment is to protect the Congregation’s Vicar position and its office for generations to come.

Gifts can be made to the Endowment for the Vicar’s Office at any time. We ask you to make your annual, unrestricted pledge before making additional investments in the Endowment.

Endowment funds will be invested and drawn in accordance with Cathedral investment policies, as overseen by Cathedral and PECF governance. This is a gift to endowment to be treated as principal in perpetuity. If at any point in the future the use as stated above becomes obsolete, inappropriate, or impracticable, the gift may be used for purposes as close to the original intent as is reasonably possible to forward the Cathedral’s mission as appropriate at that time.
