The Sacred Spaces: Racial Justice and Spirituality in Action program is now accepting applications for its next cohort. This transformative 9-month program runs from September 2025 through May 2026 and is designed for established leaders from diverse backgrounds, committed to addressing systemic racism and promoting social change through faith-based action.

The program includes a mix of in-person and online sessions and features expert-led discussions, workshops, and immersive experiences, all grounded in justice, love, and spirituality. Participants will develop an action plan to challenge injustice and foster a more equitable and compassionate society. More specific information about dates and time commitments is listed below.

Important Dates and Commitment

The program runs September 2025 to May 2026 and involves both in-person and online participation.

By joining, you are committing to prayerfully bringing your whole self to the work of toppling policies and practice that sanction systemic racism and building a community with other participants, ultimately creating an executing an action plan rooted in social justice, love and humanity. You are also committing to joining and supporting the Sacred Spaces alumni community to support future cohorts achieve their goals.

Specific commitments include:

  • Online participation, including an hour of pre-retreat work, program orientation on Sept. 25, 2025, and monthly online meetings from Nov. 2025–March 2026
  • On-site participation at Washington National Cathedral, including the Opening Retreat (Oct. 2–5, 2025) and Closing Retreat (Apr. 15–17, 2026)
