In recognition of National Gun Violence Awareness Day, all are invited to gather in the Garth prior to the Noon Eucharist as quilts memorialized with the faces of loved ones lost to gun violence are displayed. The Bourdon Bell, the Cathedral’s largest carillon bell, will toll for approximately ten minutes to remember and honor victims of gun violence.

Following the noon bell tolling, all may gather in Bethlehem Chapel for a special “Wear Orange” Noon Holy Eucharist. The color orange has become the defining color of the movement for gun violence prevention and is worn to recognize the roughly 120 lives that are killed each day.

The service, along with the Congregation’s Gun Violence Prevention Ministry, will offer prayers and liturgy and opportunity for deep reflection for those whose lives have been impacted by gun violence. A special message will be offered by The Rev. David Bowers.

All who seek a deeper relationship with God in Christ are welcome to receive Communion.

The quilt display will be available until 1:30. Learn more about the quilt display.
