Holy Eucharist
On Sunday, September 11, join Washington National Cathedral as we mark the 21st anniversary of the attacks on September 11, 2001. With invited representatives from throughout the community including area fire and police departments, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Government, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and area chaplains, we remember the lives lost, give thanks for those who served, and look towards a future with peace and hope.
The Very Reverend Randolph Marshall Hollerith will preach. There will be special prayers, as well as scripture reading by Metropolitan Fire and EMS Chief John Donnelly. We will continue to honor those whom have served with an American flag hung between two DC fire engines parked adjacent to the Cathedral.
The Cathedral would like to thank the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation for their partnership and the work they do to support the families of firefighters and first responders. You can learn more about the foundation at www.firehero.org.
Reservations are not required for in-person worship. Learn more about our reopening at cathedral.org/faq.
This service will be streamed here on our website and our YouTube page.
