Blessing of the Animals

Join us for our yearly Blessing of the Animals service, honoring the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and the environment. All God’s critters and their caretakers are invited to gather outside at the west front of the Cathedral for a special blessing.

We are excited to welcome City Dogs and City Kitties Rescue (CDCK) to the event. CDCK is a nonprofit organization that rescues animals in overcrowded, under-resourced shelters. You can learn more about this rescue from their representatives on-site.
