Last Chance! Cathedral Masons Featured on PBS’ ‘Made With Love’
If you want to see an amazing example of American craftsmanship, check out our Cathedral stonemasons on PBS' "Made With Love" before it goes offline later this week.

The episode features a host of American artistry, including a hat-designer for the Kentucky Derby, a cowboy bootmaker and an indigenous jewelry designer, but we’re a little biased that we love the story of Joe Alonso, Brianna Castelli, Sean Callahan and Andy Uhl.
(The segment about the Cathedral stonemasons starts at the 54:00 mark)
Joe recently celebrated 40 years at the Cathedral, and he’s probably best known for lowering the final stone into place on Sept. 29, 1990. He’s spent the decades since lovingly caring for this building, and overseeing all repair work from the 2011 earthquake. Now, he’s passing on his skills to Brianna, the first female stonemason employed by the Cathedral. Andy and Sean are using their immeasurable talents to carve new sculptures and replacement stones to restore the building to its original grandeur.
The episode is available on pbs.org until March 21, and then will be available on the PBS app. Be sure to check it out today!
