At the Cathedral, we are excited about our online future and as committed as ever to our online community.

You all may have heard by now that the Rev. Jo Nygard Owens, who has served as the Cathedral’s Pastor for Digital Ministry, has transitioned to a new chapter in her ministry, having accepted a call with the Episcopal Preaching Foundation. We are immensely grateful for Jo’s time with us, and the wonderful work that she accomplished.

Thankfully, the Cathedral’s digital infrastructure and online presence are in superb shape and only growing, and we have a good plan in place for all of our clergy to continue to be actively involved in the Cathedral’s digital life.

In this new chapter for the Cathedral’s digital ministry, you will hear from, and engage with, all of our clergy on the Cathedral Close Online (our dedicated virtual community hub), in our Sunday National and International Coffee Hour, and by signing up for virtual chats during dedicated office hours. We will continue to air biweekly episodes of our podcast, Crossroads, which is seeing an average of 30,000 views or downloads per episode, featuring our clergy, our staff, and inspiring guests from around the world.

We will also continue to offer online courses and other opportunities for faith formation; please stay tuned for details on forthcoming offerings. In all this, we will benefit from the expertise of Dr.  Sonia Coman, who has done spectacular work as our Director of Digital Engagement and who will continue to lead the Cathedral’s digital strategy as Senior Advisor to the Dean, and from a forthcoming advisory board of stellar industry leaders dedicated to opportunities in the online space.

To stay up to date on all things digital at the Cathedral, we encourage you to join the Cathedral Close Online and subscribe to our weekly newsletter, checking the box for “digital ministry offerings.” If you have questions, you can reach us at [email protected]. I want to thank you for being a member of our Cathedral family, and I am excited to continue and deepen our online journey together.
