Cathedral To Host An Evening with David Brooks
Washington National Cathedral will host author and acclaimed New York Times columnist David Brooks for a discussion with Cathedral Dean Randy Hollerith about Brooks’ latest book, How to Know a Person.

In this thought-provoking work, Brooks delves into the art of human connection, exploring the intricacies of empathy, understanding and the profound impact our relationships have on our lives.
Brooks will unpack key themes from the book, including the importance of vulnerability, the role of community, and how genuine connections can transform our lives. Drawing from a rich tapestry of personal anecdotes, research, and philosophical insights, Brooks invites readers to reflect on what it truly means to know someone. He challenges us to move beyond surface-level interactions and engage with the deeper emotional and psychological layers that define our relationships.
This event is part of the ongoing “A Better Way” initiative, a series of events designed to help Americans live together, learn from each other and find a way forward as a nation in polarized times.
