The Rev. Spencer Brown

The Rev. Spencer Brown joined the Cathedral in December 2023 and currently serves as Congregation Priest Associate. Spencer joins the Canon Vicar’s team in serving the congregation at the heart of the Cathedral. 

Prior to joining the Cathedral staff, Spencer served at the Cathedral of St. John in Albuquerque, N.M., where he was Canon Pastor and Associate for Congregational Development. He has served parishes in Oklahoma and Texas as clergy, as a lay Christian Formation leader, choir member and teacher. He also served intentionally bilingual (Spanish/English) congregations and communities in Texas and New Mexico.  

Spencer hails from Tulsa, Okla., and graduated from Tulsa Community College with associate degrees in Italian and Psychology, and the University of Tulsa with a bachelors in vocal music. He received his Master of Divinity from the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas, with a concentration in Latino/Hispanic Studies.  

He shares his life with his husband, Lucas, and their dog, Cruella. They love watching horror movies, enjoying the outdoors, laughing and cooking with friends.
