John Donoghue previously served as the President and CEO of CIBT, a global immigration and visa service firmMr. Donoghue joined CIBT in 2008 and under his leadership the company more than doubled in both revenue and profitability.      

Prior to joining CIBT, Mr. Donoghue held senior management positions with an emphasis on sales, marketing, and customer service with organizations such as Verisign, Network Solutions, The World Wildlife Fund and MCI Telecommunications. 

Mr. Donoghue, a former chair of the Cathedral Chapter, served for seven years as a trustee at Beauvoir, the National Cathedral School, acting as the Chair of that board for three years.  He then served as the Secretary of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation.   

He is a summa cum laude graduate of The George Washington University. Mr. Donoghue and his wife, Martha, are active members of the Cathedral Congregation where several of their sons have served as acolytes.  He served as the Co-Chair of A Cathedral for the Future campaign. 

Mr. Donoghue was named a Cathedral Canon in 2025.
