The Cathedral has a collection of nearly 200 needlepoint kneelers honoring people whose lives significantly influenced American history or culture. The collection is based on a list the Cathedral selected in the 1960s.

The roster has changed very little since it was created, but our thinking about the past has. What might the list look like if created today? We might consider who is missing, who might be dropped off the list, and what types of people are most or least represented.

If you were creating new kneelers, who would you choose to honor, and why?

Use the form below to submit the names you’d like to see included, and why you think they should be honored with a kneeler.

The honoree must:
→
Be deceased.
→ Have contributed to American life, culture or history through their life or work.

You may submit a maximum of three names. We look forward to hearing your thoughts!
