Erin Hanke is the Director of Music Operations of the music department at Washington National Cathedral where she oversees all administrative aspects of the program.  

Prior to this position, Erin managed Special Events and Development Communications at both LifeBridge Health (Baltimore, MD) and the Museum of Glass (Tacoma, WA). She was the inaugural managing director of arts centers at both the University of Northern Colorado and Sheridan College. While in Sheridan, she served as vice president of the city council, on numerous boards and public committees, and created Witzel Academy, which provided fully subsidized music lessons to students with a financial need. She has also served as Director of Music at a variety of churches across the country.

Erin received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in harpsichord performance from SUNY Stony Brook where she was a Staller fellow and teaching assistant to Arthur Haas. She received a Master of Music from Mannes College in New York City and completed organ studies with John Chappell Stowe at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she holds bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and art history.
