Second Sundays Forum: The United State of Women with Tina Tchen

This Mother’s Day, join Tina Tchen, Chief of Staff to First Lady Michelle Obama, to celebrate women’s achievements and explore ways to improve women’s lives. Tchen will discuss the upcoming White House Summit: The United State of Women and efforts to advance women’s health, economic and educational opportunities as well as other key gender equality issues.

Tchen will speak at the Cathedral’s Second Sundays forum at 10:10 a.m. and will preach at the 9 and 11:15 am worship services.

Tina Tchen is an Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff to the First Lady Michelle Obama. Within the White House, she also serves as the Executive Director for the Council on Women and Girls and the past Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement.

Tchen was previously a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, representing public agencies in class actions, including the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, the Illinois Department of Public Aid, and the Chicago Housing Authority. Tchen received the Leadership Award from the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, the "Women of Achievement" award from the Anti-Defamation League, and Chicago Lawyer "Person of the Year."
