Public Programs & Outreach

For most of us, 2020 hasn't unfolded the way we expected. Plans and intentions we made in the early days of the new year have unraveled, new anxieties for our health and financial security have emerged, places and gatherings that offered us comfort and community look drastically different.
If you are participated in the Cathedral's Moving Mindfully into the New Year, or if you are looking for a safe place to reflect on the first half of the year that has passed and move mindfully into the remainder of 2020, join us for this on-line half day retreat. Gathering in virtual community via Zoom, explore ways to take stock of the past few months while looking forward to what the future may hold. Guided meditations, individual reflections and shared ritual to honor what we have lost and what we hold dear invite us to remember and release set new intentions for the rest of the year.
Please note this is an on-line retreat. Pre-registration is required. A Zoom link will be sent to you in your registration confirmation. Registration for this program will close at 12 pm EDT the day of the program.
Dr. Terri Lynn Simpson is the coordinator for the Center for Prayer and Pilgrimage at Washington National Cathedral and the founder of Anam Cara Retreats. Celtic spirituality is her path, writing is her practice, and inviting people into thin places where they may share their stories and experience the presence of the Holy is her work. In addition to having a graduate degree in theology and a doctorate in Spirituality and Story, Terri is a long-time student of Celtic spirituality. Grounded in the three-fold practices of prayer, pilgrimage, and poetry, she weaves strands of these Celtic influences into the retreats, pilgrimages and workshops she leads in the US and in the UK for churches, healing ministries, women’s groups, and faith based non-profit organizations.
