Dean Randolph M. Hollerith hosts Jon Meacham, author and historian, with Congressman Lewis’ Chiefs of Staff, Linda Earley Chastang and Michael Collins, in an intimate conversation about Lewis’ life and leadership. From the earliest part of his life through his decades in Congress, Lewis focused on the wellbeing of others, drawing on a wellspring of faith and relationships to do so. Less than a year after Lewis’ death, Dean Hollerith invites these three guests to reflect on what inspired and sustained his decades-long leadership.
Washington National Cathedral presents Honest to God, an online series featuring wisdom leaders, theologians and others offering spiritual content for these times.
Honest to God programs bring together people from different faith traditions to discuss how the values of their faith influence their work and leadership. Our national life has been plagued in recent years by those who seek to tear down rather than to build up; to widen the divide instead of repairing the breach. Through intimate conversation and the sharing of stories, Honest to God speakers offer honesty, authenticity and faith at a time when our country is in dire need of such a generous gift.
As an institution at the intersection of our country’s sacred and civic life, Washington National Cathedral seeks to be a trusted voice of moral leadership and a convener of important conversations in civic and religious life. In these events, we hope to bring inspiration and wisdom to people around the country seeking leadership grounded in love and compassion.
