Join us for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist on the Fifth Sunday after Epiphany. The Rev. Canon Dana Colley Corsello presides; the Rev. Dr. Mark Jefferson preaches.

A high Cathedral liturgy in the nave; approximately 75 minutes, with sacred music from the Cathedral Choir. All are welcome.

About the Rev. Dr. Mark Jefferson

The Rev. Dr. Mark Jefferson, Assistant Professor of Homiletics, Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS), is today’s guest preacher. Leading up VTS’ 200th anniversary to be celebrated on October 15, 2023, The Reverend Dr. Jefferson is preaching 200 sermons locally, nationally and internationally over the next five years. He is also with us today as part of our recognition of Theological Educational Sunday, highlighting the importance of theological education for ordained and lay persons in support of the Church’s mission to restore all people to unity with God and with each other in Christ.

The Reverend Dr. Jefferson is an ordained Baptist minister, a well-regarded teacher, and a highly sought-after preacher. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Religion focusing on Homiletics from Emory University and a Master of Divinity degree from Emory’s Candler School of Theology where he concentrated in Homiletics and completed a certificate in Black Church Studies.
