This November, join the congregation family for our annual series Longer Tables, Shorter Walls. The series begins with two evenings of food, fellowship, and programs with incredible guest authors, and concludes with our beloved Thanksgiving Dinner and Hymn Sing.

Tuesday, November 4 and 11: Dinner & Guest Author Programs

All are invited to join for gathering among friends and dinner, nightly programs, or both. Tickets are $20 for dinner and program or $10 for program only. Please note that Politics & Prose will be on-site for book sales both evenings; if you wait to purchase your book at the event, the author will sign it!

  • 6 pm: Gathering for wine and fellowship followed by dinner

    • Nov. 11: Holding onto Humanity after High-Control Religion with Ms. Tia Levings, author of A Well-Trained Wife

Tuesday, November 18: Annual Thanksgiving Dinner & Hymn Sing

Join us for a special gathering of friends, a beautiful traditional Thanksgiving feast, and giving thanks for God’s abundant blessings together as a Congregation family. Come prepared with your favorite hymn tunes! Tickets: $25. Please donate a bottle of wine and/or a dessert to share at the event.

Guest Authors

The Rev. Canon Leyla King

The Rev. Canon Leyla King is a Palestinian-American Episcopal priest and author, an advocate of small churches, and a wife and mother. She is a founding member of both Palestinian Anglicans and Clergy Allies and The Small Churches Big Impact Collective. Currently, she serves as the Canon for Mission in Small Congregations for the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas. She writes about her experiences as a Palestinian, a clergywoman and a mother at thankfulpriest.com. Daughters of Palestine is her first book.

Ms. Tia Levings

Tia Levings is the  New York Times bestselling author of A Well-Trained Wife, her memoir of escape from Christian Patriarchy. She writes about the realities of Christian fundamentalism, evangelical patriarchy, and religious trauma, and is quoted in  Salon, the Huffington Post, and Newsweek.  She also appeared in the hit Amazon docu-series,  Shiny Happy People. Based in Raleigh, NC, she is mom to four incredible adults and likes to travel, hike, paint, and daydream. Find her on social media @TiaLevingsWriter.
