On Thursday, October 31—All Hallows Eve—Cathedral Dean Gary Hall joined Bishop of Washington Mariann Edgar Budde and nearly 300 guests in the great choir for a special service of Choral Evensong honoring the Cathedral’s newest-named canons. The Rev. Kim Turner Baker was named canon pastor; the Rev. Gina Gilland Campbell was named canon precentor; Patricia Riley Johnson was named canon missioner; and Andrew J. Hullinger, who remains senior director of finance and administration, was also named a canon residentiary.

Hullinger, Johnson, Campbell, and Baker now join the two other canons currently on the Cathedral’s staff, Jan Naylor Cope and Michael McCarthy, who respectively oversee the life of the Cathedral as a worshiping community and the Cathedral’s musical program. The Cathedral Choir of Men and Girls sang the service, which was attended by family and friends of the senior staff members being honored by the distinction recognizing their dedication and importance to carrying out the Cathedral’s mission in the city of Washington, the nation, and the world.
