From the Pulpit: Back to Basics

There's a lot of noise out there, Provost Jan Naylor Cope says, and sometimes it's helpful — and necessary — to get back to basics.

It’s about the core tenets of our faith: kindness, compassion, connection, vulnerability, courage, hope and resilience.

Friends, these are challenging times. You don’t need me to tell you that, but never has it been more important for us to see our beautiful diversity not as a challenge or a threat, but as part of God’s divine design—that each one of us is a beloved child of God, made in God’s own image. I’m confident that we will get through these times with God’s help and together. Why am I confident? Because nothing is too wonderful for the LORD!
