Governors Cox and Shapiro Join Washington National Cathedral for Bipartisan Conversation
WASHINGTON – Utah Governor Spencer Cox and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro join for a rare and timely conversation on the state of our politics today, the rising threat of political violence, and what it means for the future of American democracy.
In this moment of deep division, two leaders from opposite political parties will reflect on the responsibilities of leadership in moments of crisis, the dangers of extremism, and the work of building civic life rooted in dignity, safety, and hope. The conversation will be moderated by Savannah Guthrie, co-anchor of TODAY and chief legal correspondent at NBC News. Before the governors’ conversation with Guthrie, the program will open with a special panel of experts on democracy, faith, and society moderated by Cathedral Dean Randy Hollerith.
This program is presented in partnership with Disagree Better, The Wheatley Institute at Brigham Young University, and the National Institute for Civil Discourse.
