This interfaith service will celebrate the dedication of the World War II memorial and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in that war. Military and civilian clergy, as well as WWII dignitaries are expected to participate in the service; tributes will be offered by prominent citizens. Seating space in the Cathedral is extremely limited, so attendance will be controlled. The American Battle Monuments Commission is working to establish alternate sites in the Washington area to show a simulcast of the program. Potential viewing sites include the area of the National WWII Reunion on the Mall and the MCI Center. A limited number of sameday passes will available at the Gatehouse on Wisconsin Avenue. These passes are for obstructed view seating. Please be cautioned that if you have tickets to the ceremonies on the Mall, it will be difficult to attend both the Cathedral service and the Mall dedication. The use of Metro is strongly advised for all events. The Cathedral will run 2 shuttle buses from the Tenleytown Metro (look for a yellow school bus Cathedral shuttle). A queue will form at 9 am. |
